This herd comprises the picked members of the illustrious Flower family, including the two famous champion daughters of the old champion in those great breeding cows, Empress of Ben Lomond and Helen of Ben Lomond. At the recent Hawke’s Bay Show every class of females was headed by a representative of this family, which for character, conformation, early maturity, and heavy flesh cannot be excelled in the Southern Hemisphere. The offering will comprise:— 10 High-class Breeding Cows, including three, champions in calf to Toreador of Ben Lomond. 4 Rising three-year-old Heifers, including the unbeaten Helen IV. of Ben Lomond, in calf to El Dorado of Mangatoro. 1 Rising two-year-old Heifer, Empress IL, unbeaten winner at New Zealand Royal. 5 Rising one-year-old Heifers, sired by 1 Toreador of Ben Lomond, Quality of Frampton (imp.), and Victor Rarichie (imp.). 1 Stud Bull, Toreador of Ben Lomond, rising three-year-old; Ist and reserve ehampion at recent Royal Show, sire Mulben Elbow (imp.), dam Queenly of Ballintomb (imp.), sister to His Majesty the King’s stud bull. 7 Rising two-year-old Bulls, including Eldorado of Mangatoro (pure ini-, ported blood), first at recent Royal Show. 2 Rising one-year-old Bulls, sired by Toreador of Ben Lomond and Victor of Rarichie (imp.), from the champions Empress- and Helen 11. of Ben Lomond. At the recent Royal Show at Auckland, five representatives of the herd were shown, and won. all five classes, taking, in addition one Championship, two Reserves, and the Aberdeen Angus Review Silver Challenge Cup for females. The Royal Champion Helen IV. of Ben Lomond, and the Hawke’s Bay Champion Helen 11. of Ben Lomond are included. The sale has been called owing to Mr. Allan’s departure to the Old Country in April.
