CAPSIZE OF A BOAT
RESCUERS’ TIMELY ARRIVAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 5. A. Simpson and J. Boyd had a narrow escape from drowning in the Tamaki River, off Point England, on Monday afternoon, when their boat capsized and sank. B. Bond and D. Ireland who were fishing half a mile away rowed hard to the rescue of the exhausted men, the former jumping in fully clothed and dragging both to the rescuers’ boat. First aid had to be rendered when they were hauled on board.
