MR. COATES IN LONDON
ROUND OF ACTIVITIES. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright* London, Jan. 8. Mr. Coates, escorted by Mr. Erie Fitter, New Zealand meat expert, inspected the Smithfield markets. He praised the appearance and methods of handling Dominion meat. The Maori team gave a haka for Mr. Coates at Waterloo Station on Wednesday Mr. Parata is in bed with bronchitis and may not accompany th# team to Canada. Sir James Parr has arrived from Paris and will preside at the Australian and New Zealand farewell luncheon to Mr. Coates. Lady Parr is still in a private hospital in Paris, recovering from broncho-pneumonia and pleurisy. Probably she will be fit to bo moved to London shortly. It is understood that Mr. Coates Is arranging for the placement in Britain of additional orders for materials for New Zealand public works amounting to £500,006.
