RATES ON STANDING TIMBER
CONFERENCE WITH SAWMILLERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton. Dec. 15. The equily oi taxation by local authorities on standing timber within their boundaries was discussed by the Rural Counties Association at Hamilton to-day. To solve the problem of the threatened loss of revenue from that source, a resolution was passed that the association support the action taken by th? < unties concerned to pcrnransnflv .certain timber on the valuation roll for rating purposes.
