FIRE AT SUMNER
TWO PERSONS INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, I-ast Night. The Sumner fire brigade was called out at 7.30 a.m. to the residence of W. Bowden, of Richmond Hill, where some petrol fumes had ignited and done considerable damage to one of the rooms. Following an explosion the flames blew through the window and burnt a bed that was on the balcony. Miss Hilda Heinzman, who was in the room at the time of the explosion, was severely burned ami was removed to the Christehureh hospital. Miss Rata Bowden suffered burns to her hands and also slightly from shock.
