ELECTRICAL APPRENTICES
RATIO TO JOURNEYMEN REDUCED. By Telegraph. —Preos Association. Wellington, Dee. 13. An amendment to the Wellington electrical apprentices order was filed today in the Arbitration Court. Mr. Justice Frazer, in a memorandum, states that the Court has amended the order so as to effect a gradual reduction In the proportion of apprentices with a view to preventing the trade from being overcrowded. The Court is of opinion that by the time the present apprentices have completed their training the number of journeymen will be sufficient to meet the requirements of the trade and that for the future a proportion of one apprentice to two journeymen will be sufficient to allow for wastage and expansion of trade. The decision to reduce the proportion is that of a majority, Mr. Scott being unable to concur.
