Clifton Webb Verran, age’d 28 years, pleaded guilty this morning to eighteen charges covering various offences, and was committed for sentence on bail. Two informations related to the forgery of import entries by the use of a rubber stamp for the signature of the Collector of Customs, the forgery of the name of J. J. Wooler to import entries (foui charges), twelve charges of fraudulently omitting to account to the Collector of Customs, Auckland, for £230. all of which had been refunded by the accused since the date of his arrest (November 23).
