INDUSTRIAL CONFLICT
IS IT DUE TO FINANCIAL POLICY? PETITION FOR INQUIRY. By Telepraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 2, 9.18 p.m. London, Nov. 2. Sir Oliver Lodge, Mr. H. G. Wells, Mr. St. Loe Strachey and other prominent men are promoting a petition to the House or Commons. The petition urges an inquiry into the financial principles and policy of the country in view of the fear of an industrial upheaval on a national scale and the alleged fact that the financial and banking organisations are failing to promote the interests of the community. They point out that the fundamental lack of harmony between the country’s needs and its financial policy may be the cause of the existing industrial conflict.
