When Mr. and Mrs. Coates arrived at the Isle of Wight, a north-easterly wind and rough choppy sea made it impossible for the cruiser to launch a boat and the Yarmouth lifeboat was requested to take them off. The lifeboat was immediately launched, with Lord Jellicoe ou board, and after much difficulty Mr. and Sirs. Coates got iu and were landed safely at the pier
