BIGGER PRIZES DEMANDED
CYCLISTS HOLD UP MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 1. A number of leading professional cyclists attempted to hold up the sports at the English Park Stadium on Saturday night, by demanding more prizemoney, after’having entered earlier in the week for the races at the prizemoney as advertised. The outcome was that the programme did not commence till about 25 minutes after the scheduled time aud the public grew impatient, quite a number leaving prior to the commencement of the races.
