DROUGHT IN HAWKE'S BAY.
RAINFALL VERY SCANT. By Telegraph,— Press Association. Napier, Sept. 1. An indication of the drought being experienced in Hawke’s Bay is contained in the fact that during the twelve months preceding August 31, the rainfall registered in Napier totalled 16.60 inches, whereas the average over a num- i her of years is over 35 inches. Back from the coast there has been more' rain than in Napier, but everywhere the fall registered has been lea# than the average.
