Last Night, • Alexander McKay Wallace, aged 30, and Eric Lionel Hodgens, aged 26, were charged in the Magistrate’s Court today with stealing four letters valued at Is, the property of John Berryman, and also with being on licensed premises after hours. The chief detective said the accused, who were members of the crew of the Port Kembla, were refused drink at the Pier Hotel on Sunday. They opened four letters in a rack. On the charge of -theft each was convicted and discharged and on the other .charge cacti was fined £2 or seven days’ imprisonment.
