DAIRY INDUSTRY ACT.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Amendments to the Dairy Industry Amendment Bill are proposed by the Agriculiural, Pastoral and Stock Committee of the House of Representatives. A clause in the Bill provides that all dairy companies which bear names indicating that they are co-operative, but which are not entitled to be registered as co-operative companies under the principal Act, may be called upon to take steps under the Companies Act to have their names altered. The committee proposes that such companies may not be called upon to make :be change till after April 1, 1927. They are to be required, however, pending the change of names, to furnish ail suppliers with copies of accounts, reports or bal-ance-sheets which, by virtue of the articles of association or otherwise, must be supplied to shareholders under a penalty of a fine not exceeding £lO upon the same requirement is to be placed upon actually co-operative companies.
