NORTH TARANAKI HUNT.

MEETING AT MOTONUI. Somewhat unpromising weather developed into a bright afternoon when the North Taranaki Hunt had a meeting on Mr. G. N. Skelton’s property at Motonui on Thursday. From the throw off the pack worked the sea side of the Main North Road on Air. Motu’s property, but were unsuccessful in locating a hare. Entering a paddock of oats on Mr. G. Edwards’ farm across the road, it was not long before the pack drew a hare from cover and. an exciting chase ensued, until the hare eluded the hounds at the back of Mr. J. Cole’s farm. The country had been well sparred, and there was some admirable jumping. Later Mr. B. H. Chaney (master) ■thanked Messrs. Skelton, Motu and Edwin and their neighbours for the use of their property, and all who had assisted in sparring the fences. Oil 'Wednesday a number of followers will journey to Okaiawa, having accepted an invitation to hunt with the Eg-mont-Wanganui pack on this occasion.
