LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
EGMONT NOMINATIONS. Nominations closed yesterday for candidates for the Egmont County Council, Opunake Power Board, and the county representatives on the Taranaki Hospital Board. , Elections will be necessary only in the Newall riding, where Mr. H. J. Donald is being opposed by Mr. A. J. Lilley, and for the Power Board, for which seven nominations have been received for five vacancies. The elections will be held next Wednesday. The returning officer (Mr. G. W. Rogers) received the following nominations:— Oeo Riding.—*E. A. Collins, *J. S. Tosland juhr., R. C. Watson (elected). Opua Riding.—*J, Hickey junr., J. F. Shepherd, -J. Young (elected). Rahotu Riding.—*G. Gibson, *W. C. G. Green (elected). .Newall Riding.—*H. J. Donald, A. J. Lilley (one required). Hospital Board.—*T. H. H. Sinclair, "J Young (elected). -Denotes sitting Power Board.—W. L. Chambers, E. A. Collins, G. Goodwin, W. C. G. Green, J. Hickey junr., J. S. Tosland junr., H. Young (five required).
