The indications point to another interesting day’s sport at the second day of the Stratford meeting to-day. Splendid acceptances have been received in all the events. Enthusiasts now have three days’ recent form to guide them, but the presence of some fresh horses and the possibility of further rain affecting the track riiay upset their calculations. Of the nine in the Malone Memorial, Income heads the list with 9.3, and must be treated with respect. Marqueteur must be taken on trust, though he has only to be anything like his old self to be dangerous. Bright Day has gone up 121 b., but despite this will run wel’, while Y’oma must be considered.. Of the lightweights, Bay Dighton and Vaward read best. Probably Yoma, Bright Day and Vaward will be favourites.

Nine have paid up for the Ngaere Handicap, in which Papaponga (7.13) is meeting Bonogne on 91b. better terms, while Gaillard, who should improve with the race, reads- well. Pouma must always be considered. Twelve remain in the Makuri Hurdles, and with Gold Peak, San Fera and Some Fashion at the head of the list there should be rio difficulty in sorting out a favourite. San Fera probably reads best, but Araby should have benefited by yesterday's race. Of the ten in the Electric Juvenile, Merle has proved so expensive to backers that they may neglect the Hawera mare in favour of Royal Damon and Taopaiti. Atone and Gold Collector will probably be considered. Of the ten in the Cardiff Hack Handicap. Green Bonnet is certain to be made a hot favourite, but Tekarere will have plenty of support. Fire Brigade will have a good following in the Toko Welter, and so will Ben Nevis.

The dozen in the Strathmore Hack Handicap comprise recent winners in Benzora, Elysianor, and Epistle, who will be well supported, but Seastar should also go well. A big field of eighteen is carded for the County Hack Handicap, but this will probably ’be considerably reduced. Elysianor (if reserved). Lady Anstruther and Green Bonnet should be prominent. The acceptances are:—CARDIFF HACK HANDICAP.
