WIFE DESERTION CHARGE
EXTRADITION ORDER ISSUED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 21. Mr. Poynton, S.M., made an order for the extradition of Benjamin Thomas Rowse, who was arrested in Auckland on a charge of deserting his wife at Ashfield (New South Wales) and leaving her without means of support. It was agreed subsequently to withdraw the first warrant until Friday morning. Counsel for accused stated there was eVery prospect of the wife overlooking the matter or agreeing to a maintenance arrangement. Counsel for the wife said that she naturally followed her three children, whom accused had taken to Auckland. She had to sell her furn' ure for that purpose and had just sufficient to take herself and her children back to Sydney.
