ROUND THE MOUNTAIN.
CIRCULAR ROAD RACE. FIXTURE ON OCTOBER 24. A meeting of the Circular Road Race Committee was held last night, Mr. Sheats presiding over a good attendance of members. It was decided to hold th® race on Saturday, October 24, 1025. A sub committee consisting of Messrs! A. George, J. R. Sceats and M. Julian was appointed to draw up the prize list, programme, etc. It was decided to ask the Amateur Athletic Club to arrange a cross country race on the race day, to start and finish at the racecourse, a blue ribbon to be presented to th® winner. It is hoped to make jhis raee an annual event.
Several promises oi prizes had been deceived, including four racing bicycle®, Mr. Arnold George reported. '.Final arrangements were made for the dance on Thursday evening in St. 'Mary’s Hall, New Plymouth will be represented in the Timaru-Christchurch race on .September 16, Des George, J. Cross, R. Lovell and C. Parker having notified that they will in all probability be competitors.
