LABOUR FINDS NO SURPLUS.
NEW SOUTH WALES TREASURY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, June 20. The Premier (Mr. J. T. Lang) states that there will ’be no surplus in the State finances. He said that his inquiries made it clear that if the Treasury prepared its accounts in the way an honourable business man would no surplus could be «hown. Various statements had been made that the Fuller Government was leaving behind a surplus of half a million sterling. Any business could show a surplus if it omitted from the accounts sufficient liabilities.
The Government proposes to introduce a Bill in the present Parliament to abolish the death penalty,
