DEFENCE OF SYDNEY
SCHEME FOR AIR BASE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. . Melbourne, June 19. A report of the Public Works Committee, tabled in . the House of Representatives, provides for the establishment of an air base at Richmond, New South Wales, for the defence.of Sydney. The scheme provides for fighting and bombing squadrons . and will be completed in three years at a cost of £177,400. The base will be immune from naval bombardment.
