Cambridge defeated Surrey by six wickets. In the first innings Surrey made 344 (Hobbs 104, Ducat 91). Erthoven took six wickets for 100. In the second innings Surrey declared with seven wickets down for 260 (Hobbs 143 not out). Jagger took five wickets for 74. Cambridge were all out for 179. (Duleep Singh 51) in the first innings, iFenley taking six wickets for 60. Cambridge improved in the second innings, making 427 to win for the loss of four wickets (-Dawson 125, Duleep Singh 98, L. Crawley 50). Middlesex defeated Kent by an innings and twenty runs. In the first innings Kent made 247 (C. Knott 77). Durston took five wickets for 68. In the second innings Kent made 227 (Knott 61 not out). Durston took five wickets for 59. Middlesex made 488 (Hendren 240, Hearne 58, Cuthbertson 58). Playing for Yorkshire against Glamorgan, Sutcliffe made 121, Holmes 130, and Robinson 108 not out. Yorkshire won. For Warwick against Leicester Smith made 134. Howell took eight wickets for 5. Warwick won. For Worcester against Nottingham, Root took six wickets for 77. Nottingham won. For Sussex against Gloucester, Tate in the first innings took seven wickets for 66, and in the second six wickets for 3'6. Sussex won. Tate is the first to capture a hundred wickets for the season.
