Durston took seven wickets for 47. In the second innings Lancashire were dismissed for I<>3. Haig captured four wickets for 15. Middlesex in the first innings made 336 (Hendren 142, Hearne 87). McDonald took six wickets for 145. In the second strike Middlesex made eight runs without loss. Yorkshire defeated Nottingham by four wickets. Nottingham in the first innings made 139, Kilner taking four wickets for 46. In the second innings Nottingham made 165, MacAuley taking seven wickets for 70. Yorkshire’s first innings total was 1'57, Barratt having an average of seven for 71. In the second strike Yorkshire had five wickets down for 148 (Leyland 52).

Somerset defeated Sussex by 76 runs. ’Somerset’s first strike yielded 199 ('Young 86), 'Fate capturing five wickets for 5*2. In the second effort Somerset made 2'30. Sussex in the first innings made 213 (Wensley 55), five wickets falling Glasgow for OR. Tn the second innings Sussex were all out for 140. Glasgow took four wickets for 43 and Hunt four for 54.

For Hampshire against Warwick Jameson made 103 and Kennedy took five wickets for 44. Hampshire won. For Worcester against Glamorgan Root took seven wickets for 61, and for Glamorgan Arnott took six for 76. Worcester won.

For Leicester against Gloucester Astill took five wickets fur 21 in the first innings, and Skeldibg took five for 98 in the second. Leicester won.

For Derby against Kent Jackson made 127. For Kent Seymour made 106 and Collins 105 not out. Freeman took six wickets for 35 in the first innings and five for 94 in the second. Kent won.
