ENTERTAINMENTS.

EMPIRE THEATRE. “THE DIGGER EARL.” Beaumont Smith’s special comedydrama, “The Digger Earl,” featuring Arthur Tauchert, the famous “Sentimental Bloke,” Lotus Thompson; and a star cast, is to be shown for the last time to-night at the Empire Theatre. The supporting films include a tworeel comedy, “The Sheik of Hollywood,” a cartoon and topical. Admission prices for “The Digger Earl” programme are as usual, viz., Stalls Is, D.C. Is fid. The management of the Empire Theatre have completed arrangements for the screening of Paramount pictures every Friday and Saturday. The attraction for this week is James Cruze’s 8-reel special production, “The Enemy Sex,” with Betty Compson and Percy Marinont co-starred. The profits of Good Friday night’s screening are to be divided between the Clarke Memorial Hostel and the Plunket Society. Remember Paramount pictures at the Empire every Friday and Saturday. THE PEOPLE’S. “THE BELOVED CHEATER.” Lew Cody has never had such an opportunity to display his versatility as in “The Beloved Cheater,” the new comedy-drama on last night’s programme at the People’s Theatre. The production is well produced under the master hand of Wm. Christy Cabanne, who is responsible for a long list of screen successes. The supporting cast Includes Eileen Percy, Doris Pawn, Jack Mower and Alice Fleming. “The Fire Fighters,” an extremely laughable comedy, a Pathe News and Screen Review, and the eighth chapter of “The Eagle’s Talons” comprise, the supporting programme. The same programme screens this evening. Admission prices at the People’s Theatre are: Stalls 9d, D.C. Is 3d. To-morrow and Friday’s programme at the People’s Theatre will be headed by a British production entitled “Where Are My Parents?”

LAST NIGHT OF “THE TURMOIL.”

Universal Jewel production’s sevenreel special film, “Tire Turmoil,” an adaptation of Booth Tarkington’s novel, with George Hackathorne and a star east is to be shown for the last time to-night at Everybody’s Theatre. The supporting films include Buddy Messinger in a Century eomedy, “Here He Comes,” and an interesting News reel. The orchestra, under Mr. Chas. H. Fox’s direction, will supply the music. Seats may be reserved at Collier’s. Commencing to-morrow, the management of Everybody’s Theatre will screen for a three night season, the First National special production, “The Only Woman.” This feature introduces the popular stars, Norma Talmadge and Eugene O’Brien in something that is entirely different from their previous work in pictures. It is a drama of the high seas, and according to advance reports some of the finest sea scenes that have ever been secured are included in “The Only Woman.” Box plans for the season are now open at Collier’s.
