RAT ANAS PARTY RETURNS. INCIDENT ON SHIPBOARD. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Katana’s party returned to-day by the ■Niagara. Referring to ■ the 1 cabled incident on the voyage from Japan Peter Moke said , the trouble arose from the disagreeable conduct of an American passenger on a Japanese steamer, and a New Zealander also behaved in a surprising manner towards the party. “I had to eJap the face of the American and the New Zealander too,” said Peter, “and as a matter of fact, what eke could I have done? They insulteu otir girls and’bur whole party. I simply went up to the American and asked him if it was true that he had said so. Wlwfi he admitted it was true 1 slapped lus face.”
