SPORT IN TARANAKI. NEW REGULATIONS. The Acclimatisation Society norifie* trout angler* throughout the di -triet that an has granted permission for the alteration of regulations governing trout fishing. It has now been gazetted that trout may not be taken with worm in any of the society's stream or waters, and that any trout taken under twelve inches in length must be returned to the water with as little delay-and as li title damage a* possible. It is understood that all license holders have a right to request any rodman to show hi* license, and to examine the basket to see that no small fish are taken; also what lure or bait is being used.

Anglers will find that marks placed on the rod or net handle indicating . a twelve-inch measure will be very useful for measuring trout taken of doubtful length.
