The Daily News, in a leading article, etatea that all the opponents of the All Blacks pay a tribute to their sportsmanlike qualities. Their alleged infringements arc due to their speed and keenness. They have shown us splendid football, not of the kid-glove namby-pamby kind. They are a fine body of men physically and mentally. The recent ill?temper suggests that Englishmen are losing their fortitude in defeat, formerly their special boast. White has dislocated his collarb me. The Daily Mail, commenting on the New Zealand cable stating, that it was sad if the tour had proved that Englishmen could no longer take punishment smilingly,- says it is astonished at such a message. The All Blacks had everywhere been warmly welcomed, and hailed as heroes. Their biggest victories had only increased their popularity. The large number of penalties against them inevitably caused comment, but no qualified critic suggested that they were guilty of deliberate foul play. New Zealand must have been misled.
