THEFT OF RINGS
YOUTH GIVEN A VRANGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North. Dec. 16. In the Magistrate's Court h smartlydressed negro youth. Alee McGruder, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence for the theft of two diamond rings from a local jeweller’s shop. Accused had entered the shop to have his spectacles repaired, ai d during the absence of the girl in the workshop had ta'ken two rings. Counsel ■said accused, was filling an important role in a travelling company and the lapse was due to a nervous breakdown.
