ELTHAM NEWS.
KNOX CHURCH. (From Our Own Correspondent.) At the evening service at Knox Presbyterian - Church, Eltham, on Sunday last (December 7) three new ruling elders, Messrs, W. S. McLeod, G. H. Tarrant and J. Lambie, were ordained to their office in the presence of a large and representative congregation. The rapid growth of the church during the last few years has rendered additions necessary both to the session and to the board of managers, and the former body now numbers ten men. The service, which was a most inspiring one, was conducted throughout by the Minister (the Rev. E. J. Orange), who delivered a powerful sermon dealing with the post, the life and the work of an elder. Seated in a half-circle beneath the pulpit were several members of the session, while before, them were the new elders, to whom, at the close of the ordination, they extended the right hand of fellowship. The church organiser (Miss Ivy Peters) officiated at the organ, and her rendering of the musical portion of the service added much to the enjoyment and inspiration which characterised the event.
