RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION. Fine weather favoured the New Plymouth Rifle Club on a Saturday for the second competition o-f the championship seiies. A very fair number of members were present and the shooting was extremely good, no less than seven marksmen making scores o-f 90 or over off the rifle. Rifleman Ritchie was top scorer for the day with the fine total of 95. Rifleman Marett shot well for 93, while two handicap men, Riflemen MdGahey and Keating, reached over the olub limit, which is 92 at these distances. The detailed scores are as follow;
