TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday, the 24th and 25th Instants. Present: Messrs J. Cook (chairman), S. Blake, C. J. Ryan, N R Cleland, J. W. H. Martin. The following applications for land were approved: Section 3, block XII., town of Matlere, T. V. Carter; section 8, block IX, Waro S.D., J. Farrelly: section 4. block XVI., Omona S.D., S. Love; Sections 9, 15 to 18, block X., town of Matlere, K. Cleaver; section 12, block X., town of Matlere, J. M. Fleming. The application by W. Stubbs for three acres adjoining section 13, block VI., Pouatu S.D., was refused. The following applications to purchase the freehold were approved:—’Sections 4,5, and 13, block V., Hawera, Mrs. C. M. M. Biddle; section 1, block XV., Waitara, A. Corklll; sections 5 and 20, block VI., Pouatu S.D., H. Alexander McLeod. Proposals for the expenditure of thirds by the Ohura, Inglewood, Clifton, Stratford. Eltham and Patea County Councils were approved. The application by Mr. Luke Landridge for permission to erect a dwelling on lot 4. section W, New Plymouth town belt, wai approved. The application by Mr. J. Caddy for permission to subdivide nis E.R. lease, block 46. town of Opunake, was aproved. The following applications to transfer were approved:—Section 2, block 111., Opaku, J. J. W. and A. P. Barnes to L. R. Neilson; part section 1968 H, town of New Plymouth. R A. Large to H. Peterson; section F, town of New Plymouth, R. A. Large to H. Peterson; section 3, block I. Taurakawa, J. Goodkin to T. Goodkin; section 369, town of New Plymouth, H. J. Grayson to L. Cave; section 4. block X, Opunake, Registrar to H. McCann : Parts 1102, 1103, town of New Plymouth, C. Ccrter to D. F. Saxton; part section 30. block XIII., Ngalre, L. H. Rowe to E. W. Todd; sections 111 1 and 4, block XL, Malioe, E. Marfell to G. Spence, part sections 158 and 159, Hua and Waiwakaiho, H. Martin to A. G. Martin (sub-lease). The application by settlers on the Mange-re Road for the use of the farm, wool shed, etc., formerly owned by Nicol Bros., was approved on the conditions suggested. Twenty-nine applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act were considered, and of these seven applications to transfer were recommended, one deferred, and one refused; six applications for advances for stock were recommended, two deferred, and five refused.
