The Prussian National Library .purchased a parchment alleged to be un unknown work by commented on it, but the French palaeographer Chatelain expressed doubts as Plautus. German .professors learnedly ti its authenticity, whereupon an analysis was made of the ink, which revealed traces of aniline of recent origin. This was discovered, just in time to prevent u further purchase of what was alleged to be Livy’s Servius.
