MISSION WORK IN KOREA. ADDRESS BY COMMISSIONER, A stirring revival meeting conducted by Commissioner and Mrs. Hoggard, the territorial leaders of the Salvation Army, assisted by Major McCauley and Ensign and Mrs. Goffin, was held at the New I*lym'outh Salvation Army hall yesterday, the meeting being the first of a series of service® to be held throughout Taranaki. A preliminary meeting was held in the morning at eleven o’efoek, When a large congregation met the visitors. In the afternoon the Oommfissumer, who spent eight years as th© Salvation Army’s pioneer missionary in Korea, gave an interesting address beforo a large congregation. The Mayor (Mr. F E. Wilson) presided. The story of self-sacrifice, toil and devotion, which is being performed in a land juet rising out of the darienes® of heathenism, with all its aiteswiant struggles with poverty and superstition, was told by Commissioner Hoggard in such a manner as to stir the hearts of all those present. He said that up to the present time the result® of the mission were most gratifying, and he was able to report that the Salvation Army •was permanently established in Korea, The successful work done in that fax off land with its 15,000,000 people embraced all that which was being done in New Zealand by the Army.
