BIBLE CLASSES.

WEEK-END RALLY. A big rally of the New Plymouth Young Men’s and Young Women’s Bible Classes of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Baptist Churches was held during the week-end. A football tournament between the classes of the three churches was won by SL Andrew’s. Details are:— First game: St. Andrew’s (14) defeated St. Aubyn-Fitzfroy (3). Mr. W. Diproae refereed. Second game: Baptist (6) defeated Whiteley (3). Mr. McDonald refereed. Final: St. Andrew’s (11) defeated Whitdey (9). Mr. Fookea refereed. In the evening the members met in the Whiteley Hall, where, games were indulged in- Mr. R. Cocker was or-» ganiser. A banquet was than held, Mr., L. M. Moss occupying the chair. Al lengthy toast list was honoured and 16 most enjoyable evening was spent. The rally was brought to a close yesterday afternoon by a united meeting in the Baptist Church. The service, With the exception of the address, was conducted by the young men’s classed ofi the town, and the singing, which waa of a rousing nature, was ably led by Mr. Bree (organ) and orchestra of Messrs. S. White, Scott and Neilson. During the evening Mr. Dipfnse moved and Mr. Moss seconded & resolution expressing sympathy Wfffi Mr. R. H. Rockel (leader of * St. Andrew’s teftfor) in his severe illness. The address by Mr. J. A. Valentine was listened to attentively and earnestly by all present.
