BUTTER ADVANCES AGAIN. MARKET FIRM AT 2125. • \ CHEESE QUIET AT 935. Private cable advices received in New Plymouth yesterday, dated London, Thursday, stated that New Zealand butter was quoted at 2125. with unsalted at 2245. The market was reported to be firm. The cheese market was quiet, .with New Zealand white at 93s and coloured at 91s.

Laste week the report was: ‘‘The demand for butter is slow. New Zealand choicest salted is quoted at 205 s to 2065, Australian 194 s to 200 s. Siberian (weak) 15C»s to 170 s, Danish 2125. The cheese market is quiet. New Zealand coloured 925. white 945.”

The latest quotations are equivalent to approximately Is per lb. f.o-b. New Zealand ports for salted butter, and Is 9Ad for unsalted, the butter-fat prices being approximately Is 9d and Is 10.37 d per lb. respectively. The cheese quotations are equivalent to 8d per lb. f.o.b. New Zealand ports for coloured and for white, the .butter-fat prices being: Coloured, January-Febru-ary make, Is 4.5 d; March, April, May make. Is 4d; white, January, February make. Is sd; March, April, May make, Is 4.5 d. Cabled advices state that the imports of butter into Great Britain during August totalled 23,390 tons, an increase of 2930 .tons on August last year.

Inquiries made by a Daily News reporter elicited the information that buyers are asking for firm offers of September butter at Is 7d, and that butter on the water can be sold readily at Is 7|d.
