SMALLPOX IN BRITAIN.

THE DISEASE SPREADING. WORSE THAN LAST YEAR. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 19, 7.50 p.m. London, Sept. 18. The Health Ministry states that emallpox is spreading in England and Wales, and is now prevalent in 91 districts. The cases total 2750, compared with 1840 during the corresponding period of 1923.

The disease is most severe in Derbyshire, where there are 1080 cases, while in Nottingham there are 434 cases. Generally they are not fatal.
