Correspondence was received with reference to daylight-saving propoealH, which have received the approval of the cemtre, and stating that the measure has a reasonable chance of becoming law this year. One Taranaki M.P. wrote stating that in al’, probability the measure would be parsed as an experiment to operate for one summer, and if found -to be advantageous would be re-introduced the following session and made permanent. The Inglewood Club wrote asking -for ; permission to play A and B sections in , the shield matches, providing they were i ll compelled to play more* than -three J rinks in each section.—lt was stated that in the meantime it had been realised that it would make the competition too cumbersome in the Central Division, and that Inglewood had decided not to proceed further with the matter. It -was decided that the annual open tournament commence on Tuesday, January 27. All section games will be of 25 heads and after section play the full two-life system will be applied, games in past section play being of 21 heads. Except in the final there will be a time limit of three hours, inclusive of tea adjournments. It was decided to procure a number of very attractive gold medals—'with a coloured centre pie?e depicting a bowler delivering his bowl—a.s trophies for the tournament and for the champion of champions competition. The New Year tc urnament will be held as usual and under the same conditions as last year. It was reported that t'he Auckland Centre would visit Taranaki during the coining season, and therefore pending the fixing of dates for this tour the question of the Taranaki Centre undertaking a southern tour was deferred urtil a future meeting. A sub-comm it tee consisting of New Plymouth members of the executive was appointed to carry out details in connection with the tournaments. Asked for an expression of opinion, the centre ruled that the throwing of th< head must be played to a finish irrespective of any time limit.
