TOWN BOARD ELECTIONS.

KAPONGA, NORMANBY AND MANAIA,

Besides the Opunake Town Board election, which was held on Wednesday, polls were held at Kaponga, Norma nby and Manaia. In the Kaponga elections the four retiring members, Messrs. C. E. Betts, R. A. Law and J. A. Dawson, were all reelected, and occupied the leading positions. The following is the record of votes polled: C. E. Betts 90, R. A. Law 90, J. A. Dawson 89, A. Bates 80, D. J. Keheley 81. A- J. Herbert 79, R. E. Williams 78, N. C. Davies 68. A» the complement of the board is seven members, the first seven named have been declared elected.

The result of the polling at Normanbv was as follows: A. H. Hills 66, C. Coad 60, J. P. Levdon 47, T. Liovd 44, C. J. Preston 41. E. T. Peach 30, J. A. Archbold 25, E- S. Bennett 25, J. H. Forbes 20, A. Hurliman 20. The first five were elected.

Great excitement prevailed for the election of the Town Board commissioners at Manaia. The following was the result, the first seven being elected:— S. Greaves 194. V. H. Hobday 190. C. Jones 179, James Hickey 165, G. Nielsor 161, N. C. Innes 149, J. A. G. Cosgrove 101, G. Watts 98, C- Franklin 71, A. Hansen 70, J. Kendall 63. H. Symmons 53, G. Bovle 46, G. Stephenson 36, P. Wright 35.
