THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

VISIT TO TARANAKI. WELCOMES ALL ALONG LINE ARRIVAL AT NEW PLYMOUTH. PROGRAMME FOR TO-DAY. Their Excellencies joined the train at Aramoho and travelled in the Vice-Regal car. At all the stopping places en route to New Plymouth they were enthusiastically greeted by large crowds, the proceedings at Eltham being added to by the music of the town bend. The greet-* ings had the effect of delaying the train, which was fifteen minutes late in arriving at New Plymouth. Their Excellencies were accompanied by the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, Lieut-Commander Dove, A.D.C., and Captain Curtis, private secretary. At the • New Plymouth station the party was met by the Mayor (Mr. F. E. Wilson), who briefly and informally expressed the pleasure it gave the people of New Plymouth that Their Excellencies should pay another visit ta the town before leaving New Zealand. The Mayor then accompanied the party to the Criterion Hotel, where another, cordial greeting was extended, and where Lady Jellicoe expressed her appreciation of the arrangements that had been made for her stay. coo then received the Mayoress, and later, accompanied by the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, attended a dance given in her honour by the Victoria League.
