Mr. Newton King is visiting Auckland. Mr. J. R. Sutherland, Mayor of Inglewood, returned from Wellington last night by the mail train. Mr. A. Wilson, manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Thames, arrived by the mail train last night on a visit to Taranaki. He is at present staying with his sistef, Mrs. J. Gibbs, at Inglewood. A passenger by the Ormonde, which reached Sydney a few days ago from London, was Sir Philip Proctor, a director of Vesteys, Limited, who is making a private trip to New Zealand. A Melbourne message says that Mr. Oxenham, secretary of the G.P.0., has resigned and has been succeeded by Mr. H. P. Brown, of the British P. 0., who has been loaned to the Commonwealth for the past year.
Mr. E. H. Brooker, of Dunholme Methodist Theological College, Auckland, who is to supply the pulpit at the Fitzroy church during the summer vacation, is expected to arrive in New Plymouth next week.
