FARMERS’ UNION.
BELL BLOCK BRANCH. The Bell Block branch of the Farmers’ Union held a meeting in the Bell Block Hall on Monday night for the purpose of electing the remainder of the executive. The following were, elected: President. Mr. W, Hoskin; Vice-presi-dent, Mr. Parkins; secretary and treasurer. Mr. Ogle; auditor, Mr. Downs (subject to his approval); executive, Messrs, ti. L. Parkin. L. Laurent, T. Giddy, N. Hill. J. H. Street, Henry ’Stonex anc. Bassau. Mr. Healey, of New Plymouth, will probably be giving a lecture on “Top Dressing and R'oot Crops,” in a fortnight's time, and it was decided to provide supper on such occasions when lecturers came from town to speak at Bell Block. It was also decided that the management committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union be approached on the matter of starting football matches earlier to give farmers a chance to get home to their work before dark.
