MAILBAGS RIFLED.
REGISTERED LETTERS STOLEN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 30, 9.5 p.m. Sydney, April 30. During Saturday night fourteen bags of registered letters and parcels were rifled in the parcels post office in Cen tral Square. The thief apparently was aware that .there was no all night stall employed on Saturday, and he secreted himself in the building prior to closing. Bags were ripped open and a number of letters opened. Those containing cheques were thrown aside, but it l: believed two hundred others, besides a large number of registered parcels, arc missing. The mail was awaiting dispatch to inter-State and foreign destin ations. This follows a similar occurrence in February, when twenty-five bags were rifled.
