(From Our Own Correspondent). February 2. To-morrow (Saturday);February 3, in Queen Street. Waitara, the Salvation Army new hall, which has just bqen erected by Ensign Dickson (Salvation Army officer from Wellington), will be ofticiall.v opened ‘by Major Wallace, the divisional commander of the Taranaki' district.
Assisting Major Wallace will be Mrs. Wallace from Wanganui, Major Winton, M.B.E. (the “Digger Padre” of Codford), from Wellington, the officers in charge of New Plymouth (-Adjutant Wheeler and Ensign Marshall), with the New Plymouth band. Envoy Buick will also be present. The officers who are to be in charge are Captain Lillingston and Captain Stevenson, who have had successful terms at Inglewood, Te Aroha }/ -Devonport, Cambridge, Eden, Taumarunui and Brqoklyn. At 7.15 p.m. a huge openair rally will be held in McLean Street, and at 8 p.m. a special musical service. On Sunday three services will be held at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m., led by the above staff. A Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The New Plymouth band will be at all services on Sunday.
