THE SYDNEY TRIP.
POSTPONED TILL MAY. The Taranaki 'Chamber of Commerce has decided to postpone the pronosed Sydney trip, arranged for 4th March, till May, owing to the minimum number of passages required by the Union Steamship Company, viz., seventy, not having been obtained
Forty booked, whilst a good many had handed in their nairns as liki.y passengers, but they wore unable a« yet to came trt a definite decision. This was largely because of the date of -ailing being a month off.
The Chamber has had strong representations mode to delay the trip, it being urged that owing to the Intones* of the reason this year menv fann-'rs were unable to get away, whilst Mar i was also an inconvenient time for manv* business men to leave. It was suggested that May would bp a much wrier date, and «o the siib-Donnnittpp bt charge of the arrangements have decided to defer the date of sailing until May, and meantime to consult with the management of the Uninn <*on»nnny in regard to details in connect ion with the trip.
