EVERYBODY’S. ZASU PITTS IN “THE HEART OF TWENTY.” The lady with the explosive name, Zasu Pitts, the inimitable, sometimes referred to as the Charles Ray of the screen, w.ill be the big. attraction at Everybody’s to-night. Miss Pitts has gained considerable reputation for her interpretations of ‘‘small town” parts and in her latest attraction has the role of Sadie Abbott, one of the millions who live within the bounds of the small town—who takes herself seriously and makes her life a near tragedy simply because she believes the whole world to be against her. But the “nice young fellow” comes along and in him Sadie sees the silver cloud showing the way to her happiness. With him as an inspiration Sadie takes a hand in the political campaign for her choice for town mayor and shows, that after all there is lots to live for if one looks on the sunny side of life. Gazettes, comedy, and conclusion of “The Invisible Hand” are also on this bill. The box plans are now open at Collier’s for the special super production, “Lying Lips.” THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OF TOM MIX IN “HANDS OFF.” At the People’s Theatre. Tom Mix, his trusty gun and lariat will end their stay in “Hands Off” to-night and the William Fox production will move on. The stamp of popular approval has been placed on Mix's new picture and tonight will be the last chance to view one of the breeziest western dramas seek here in some time. Mix opened last night, and a typical Mix reception awaited him, for his followers in this town always |ook forward to a picture by the Fox star as one of the events of the season. Tom did not disappoint them, and rode, roped and shot to the satisfaction. of everyone, well as throwing in a few new special stunts. One of the stunts was the rescue of a child from in front of a herd of stampeded horses. The bill includes gazettes, and Sunshine comedy.

FITZROY BEACH, CARNIVAL ON SATURDAY. What promises to be a very pleasant function is to be held on the foreshore at the end of Beach Street, Fitzroy, on Saturday next. For some time the Fitzroy Ratepayers’ Association has been jn communication with the Harbor Board authorities to secure part of the foreshore for recreation purposes, and it is hoped that their efforts wifi meet with success. Already a very good building has been erected to serve as a hath' ing shed for ladies, and it i> hoped that the association Wil] soon have the funds necessary tp erect a. shed for the men, (tnd to carry out a scheme for the general beautification of the foreshore. The Mayor has kindly consented to perform the opting ceremony, the 4th Battalion Band will be in attendance, and an effort is being made to get the trams fp stop at Beach Street to let down and take up intending patrons. If the residents ot Fitzroy and the surrounding districts will give their support, there is no reason why the beach and its environs at the east end pf the town should not be ip keeping with those at
