QUESTION IN THE HOUSE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Niglvt. In the House to-day Mr. T. M. Wil« ford (Leader of the Opposition) gav4 notice to ask the Minister of Agrieuh ture whether, in view of the fact that our meat was evidently being exploited at Home, and in view of the fact that the middleman was making huge profits, would ihe Government sympathetically assist in the development of a 1 system of marketing New Zealand meat on a consignment system, through depots in various parts of England, such as was proposed in the New Zealand Farmers’ Union scheme, with the object of eliminating trusts altogether* The question further asked would the Government follow the Danish plan of supporting a co-operative organisation, for such a purpose by a loan or grant, and further, would it give the producers any legislative help they might require in elaboration of such a scheme*
