THE GIRLS' HOSTEL.

YESTERDAY’S COLLECTIONS £l6B. TOTAL TO DATE £B6'4. Colonel Weston said at the fine gathering of young women that met last night in the interest of the Y.W.C.A. campaign that the subject of the collectors had become one of congratulation rather than one that called for a message of encouragement to the workers. lie considered the campaign results so far were an evidence of remarkable -organisation and leadership. The collectors had proved by their zeal how strong was their desire to do good for other people, and the foundations they were laying to bring the Young Women’s Christian Association into New Plymouth were not to stand for this generation only but for the future. The results for the day, which included further subscriptions and the street collections, amounted to and the total to date from the present campaign is £864. Tea was generously given by Mrs. C. H. Weston and Mrs. Neale, to whom a vote of thanks was accorded. There will be no further campaign rallies until Monday evening, when there will be a gathering of workers at which prospective members will be welcome, arid then the final results of the week’s work will be declared.
