PUBLIC SERVICE ECONOMY.
A COMMENCEMENT MADE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The report of the public service economies commission, comprising the principal heads of the public service appointed to report what economies can be effected in that service, is, expected within six weeks. The committee has been inquiring thoroughly into the working of all State departments and it is stated many economies have already been carried out. but as the most important improvements involve 1 a o| staff it may be some time before the full result of the commission’s labors are seen.
