COST OF THE WAR.
THE DOMINION'S SHARE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Acting Minister for Finance, referring to the cablegram quoting the cost of the war to the various countries, says the total of £75,750,000 is given as the figure to which our war expenses account will eventually attain, and in this sense the estimate by the Australian statistician is on the moderate side. The actual coat of the war to New Zealßnd to March 31 last was £62,500,000. When to this is added our expenditure on pensions, repatriation, discharged soldiers' settlement, interest, etc., the full cost of the part we took in the struggle will ultimately surpass the figure of £75,750,000 referred to. Until, however, one has complete figures on which to base estimates it is impossible to state accurately the amount of the Dominion's total expenditure on the war.
