SHEEP DIP AT INGLEWOOD. (By Tari Hereni.) That the interests of the shareholders and clients of the Farmers' Co-operative Organisation Society in the fnglewoooi district are kept well in view by tlie management is shown by the addition to their local saleyards of a compact, substantial and convenient sheep dip, now just completed. This is situated in the south-west corner of enclosed yards, and is so arranged that the work o£ dipping qijite a large number ! of sheep can be done thoroughly and with despatch. Supply paddock, race, tilt, concrete dip, draining pens and paddocks into which the dipped sheep can be drafted have been carefully planned wih an eye to best practical results. The designing and construction of this Valuable addition to the yards was in the hands of Mr W. Reid, of Hawera, and the benefit of his experience in such work is shown in the result obtained. One striking feature in the whole scheme is the means adopted for getting the sheep into their vermin destroying bf-th with the least possible waste of time or application of violence. An inclined timber race leads from the suprdv paddock on to an enclosed platform extending over one side of the dip. This enclosure is of such a size as to nicely hold tho number of sheep (about ten) that car, easily be managed in the dip itself. On the side of it opposite to the race is a decoy pen into which one of the flock can be put to act as an inducement for the others to come on to the said platform without hesitation So soon as the requisite number are there a gate is shut bolund them, and then by an ingenious device, which needs to be seen to be appreciated, the penful of protesting animals is so tilted that they are plumped, willy-nilly into the dip.
