:..:.IDIIIRST. ("roiu Our Own Correspondent.) A serious accident occurred here on the morning of the 25th inst, when a horse driven by Mr J. Davidson, oi Taviki, took fright at tvvc motor cycles with side cars and became uncontrollable, with the result that Mr Davidson pud bis daughter were thrown from the gi<; Tlie owners of the cycles conveyed Mr and Miss Davidson to their home and on the arrival of medical aid it was found that the former hud sustained broken ribs and collar bone, Miss Davidson escaping with a severe shaking. An improvement to the township is now in progress, by the laying down of tai macadam reading. When the footpaths are similarly treated and really curbed with concrete, local residents* wilt begin to feel proud of their town. It is quite likely that this milch needed work will be carried out—some day. Tn the meantime on dark nighte pedestrians will- be well advised to stick to trie road.
